Video: One shot dead at APC governorship rally in Lagos state, three journalists hit by stray bullets


One person has been confirmed dead after violence broke out at the APC governorship election rally in Lagos state which held at the Skypower field today January 8th.

Ismail Afez, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) was shot in the head during  a crossfire between hoodlums that attended the rally. He was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was declared dead.

Three journalists – The Nation Group Political Editor Emmanuel Oladesu, New Telegraph correspondent, Temitope Ogunbanke and Ibile Television cameraman, Abiodun Yusuf, were hit by stray bullets during the crossfire.

Many persons including the chairman of NURTW in Oshodi, Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo, were stabbed by hoodlums. Oluomo was stabbed in the stomach, hand and head. He is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Many of the party members that attended the rally were robbed of their phones, money and other valuables
