Activist and rape victim die in accident on their way to court in Benin

A gender-based-violence activist and a rape victim she was helping have died in a fatal accident while on their way to court.

Promise Ezekiel, of Brave Heart Initiative (BHI), was following up on the rape case to ensure that the victim gets justice. While on their way to a court in Benin, Edo state, for the case, they were involved in a collision with a trailer.

The trailer crushed the car they were in beyond recognition, killing Ms Promise Ezekiel and the rape victim.

 Friends have taken to Facebook to mourn their death.
